Sophie has over six years experience in entomological research. During her Bachelors degree in Applied Biology at the University of Bath she spent one year working on an insecticidal cotton project for the agrochemical company, Syngenta. She then joined Imperial College in 2005 where she gained a distinction for her Master of Research degree in Entomology and continued at Imperial to achieve a PhD in 2010. Sophie also has experience of working in clinical trials and spent over one year at the Medical Research Council’s Clinical Trials Unit which developed her understanding of carrying out studies of a clinical nature. She joined arctec in 2012 and is involved in the coordination, design and implementation of laboratory efficacy testing of repellents and insecticides and clinical trials of after-bite treatments.
